At Rutgers, we have a wonderful CruST, which stands for CRU Servant Team, who are excited to be serving the Rutgers community by expanding and strengthening the Kingdom here! Their work involves setting a vision for each semester, planning and organizing weekly meetings, leading small groups/Bible studies, planning larger out-reach events and most importantly fostering Christ-centered community with-in CRU as a whole. Amelia Kobayashi is a senior in the School of the Arts and Sciences studying exercise science as her major and has a dance minor at Mason Gross School of Arts. Amelia joined cru after her first year and served as a CruST leader her sophomore year. This year Amelia is serving as the president of Cru and is excited to see what God has in store for the year. Amelia loves to dance, travel, model, and go out to eat with friends and family. One of her favorite verses is 1 John 3:1 “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” This verse reminds her how much we are loved by God because we are called to be his children. Daniel Lonarkar is a sophomore studying Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Music Technology. He joined Cru his freshman fall semester and CruST the following semester; now he serves as Vice-President and seeks to cultivate growth and community at Cru for the glory of God. Additionally, he serves as Worship Team Leader for our new worship team and looks to create a community of Christ-centered worship! When not at school or Cru, he loves to drive, play guitar, work on music, and read, along with getting together with friends. Johnny Pinto is a junior in the Rutgers Business School studying finance. Johnny joined Cru in his fall semester of sophomore year and joined the servant team his spring semester of his sophomore year. This year, Johnny is Cru’s treasurer and will use his outgoing and kind personality to build community within Cru. Some things Johnny enjoys doing in his free time are working out, playing basketball, hiking, skydiving, and playing the drums. Joanna Wong is a sophomore in Mason Gross School of the Arts studying filmmaking. Joanna joined Cru freshman year and joined the Cru servant team in spring semester. This year, Joanna aims to have a fun year filled with activities, joy, and most importantly growth in God. Joanna may seem shy at first, but underneath she is full of surprises. She loves hanging out with friends, having self care days, and catching up on the latest movies and reads. She is looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new people in Cru! Jeffrey Farnese is a senior in the School of Arts and Science. He is currently majoring in biology and minoring in psychology and is on his way to becoming a doctor. Jeffrey first joined Cru as a sophomore during the COVID pandemic. He decided to join the Cru servant team this year and is looking forward to assisting others in their relationship with the Lord. In his free time he is volunteering as an EMT, hanging out with friends, watching movies, or riding motorcycles.
