Meet your 2021-’22 CruST!

At Rutgers, we have a wonderful CruST, which stands for CRU Servant Team, who are excited to be serving the Rutgers community by expanding and strengthening the Kingdom here! Their work involves setting a vision for each semester, planning and organizing weekly meetings, leading small groups/Bible studies, planning larger out-reach events and most importantly fostering Christ-centered community with-in CRU as a whole. Below are some short introductions to the current members. Amelia Kobayashi is a third year in the School of the Arts and Sciences studying exercise science as her major and a has dance minor at Mason Gross. Amelia joined cru after her first year and served as a CruST leader last year. This year Amelia is serving as one of the co-presidents of cru. Amelia loves to dance, travel, try new things, and go out to eat with friends and family. One of her favorite verses is 1 John 3:1 “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” This verse reminds her how much we are loved by God because we are called to be his children. Last year, she joined CruST after transferring to Rutgers from Raritan Valley Community College. Jessica was involved with Cru for her two years at RVCC, and served in several different leadership roles. She is excited to be one of your co-presidents this year! One of Jessica’s favorite hobbies is taking care of her many houseplants and succulents. She also loves spending time with friends and family and eating mac n cheese. When she first transferred to Rutgers at the start of her sophomore year, Cru was one of the first organizations she joined. Now, she is excited to take on the role of servant team member during her last year at Rutgers. She cannot wait to host fellowship activities and participate in large group meetings. In addition to Cru, she is also very involved in the Douglass community as she is a member of Douglass Governing Council. Vivek Rajan is a current grad student studying cybersecurity. He did his undergraduate at the University of Tampa in criminal justice. While he was there, he got involved in Cru and loved it. He is excited to see what this year holds! In his free time, he loves to play with his dog Mowgli (yes, named after the Jungle Book), hike and explore the outdoors (he loves nature), watch movies, and go to new places with friends.
