At Rutgers, we have a wonderful CruST, which stands for CRU Servant Team, who are excited to be serving the Rutgers community by expanding and strengthening the Kingdom here! Their work involves setting a vision for each semester, planning and organizing weekly meetings, leading small groups/Bible studies, planning larger out-reach events and most importantly fostering Christ-centered community with-in CRU as a whole. Below are some short introductions to the current members. Alyssa Miller is a fourth year student double majoring in Social Work and Psychology. After finding a home at Cru in her first three years, she is excited to be a part serving as one of your co-presidents for CruST this year. When she is not diligently doing classwork you can find her climbing trees, laughing until her sides hurt, reading (any good book recommendations, send them her way), trying any and all new foods, or performing on a stage. She has a heart for travel and adventures, which includes learning about all the cultures of the world and seeing God’s beautiful sights. One of her favorite verses is Colossians 1:16-17 “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. Michael Cardone is a fourth-year Rutgers Business School student pursuing a degree in Supply-Chain Management. After joining cru as a freshman and being on the servant team this past year, he is excited to be Co-President in his final year at Rutgers. When he’s not talking to other business people about important business topics, he likes to brew specialty coffee or go to the gym. One of his favorite passages is Psalm 61: 1-2 “Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Amelia Kobayashi is a second year SAS student who is right now an undeclared but is planning on declaring her major as exercise science and has a dance minor. Amelia got plugged into CRU her first year in the fall and this is her first year on CruST. Amelia loves to dance, meet and get to know people, and go out to eat with friends and family. One of her favorite verses is 1 John 3:1 “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! Timbre Griffin is a fourth year SAS student majoring in Political Science and minoring in Philosophy. Timbre was welcomed by CRU in her second semester of Junior year and after being a part of Cru’s worship team, she is excited to be joining CruST this year. Timbre enjoys variety of activities, including planning, traveling, international dramas, and learning. She makes each day a new day and strives to walk with God. Noah O’Dell is a fourth-year student in the School of Arts and Sciences studying Exercise Science with aspirations of becoming a physical therapist. He transferred to Rutgers in Fall 2019 and has been with Rutgers Cru since. Before coming to Rutgers he was a student at Raritan Valley Community College, and was the Cru president there in the Spring 2019 semester. He currently works as a part-time swim instructor in Bound Brook, NJ. He also enjoys watching football, especially when it comes to his favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles. One of the verse passages he likes to remember is James 2:17-18, “So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
